Fifty eight year old Jack
Mackay needed hospital treatment after an owl visually attacked him from behind
on last Saturday (January 26, 2013). Jack was taking a stroll near the Masonic Club on Gordon Terrace in Inverness at around 9:15pm,
when a sharp pain was felt in the back of his head. At first, Jack thought
someone had thrown a brick at him, but then he turned around to find a bird had
been the cause. He then put his hand to the back of his head, feeling the blood
gushing out of him. He quickly ran to the Masonic Club, where the staff called
an ambulance. Once at the hospital, the doctor told him the wound wasn't as bad
as it had originally appeared. He got to choose to have his cut stitched,
stapled or glued, and he opted to have it glued.
At first, this may only seem like a strange event, but
when you look closer, I think you can see a message being sent to the entire
human race by this owl. Clearly we as humans aren't providing animals with
enough of their natural habitats. This owl attacked this man as if to say
enough! We need to make more wildlife preserves so these animals can have space
to roam freely!
